Newport Flavors Organic Anise Flavor Concentrate is made from 100% Organic Anise seed. The Organic Anise seeds are extracted through steam distillation and the essential oil is collected and saved for further processing. Our Newport Flavors Organic Anise Flavor Concentrate is made to be water soluble by homogenization with Gum Acacia and the fresh steam distilled anise oil. The flavor of anise resembles licorice and fennel, but with a slightly sweeter note. Newport Flavors Organic Anise Flavor Concentrate can be used to flavor ice creams, beverages, sauces, syrups, liquors, cakes, cookies, preparations, cleaning solutions, yogurts, and other dairy products. Like many essential oil-based products, anise has powerful anti-microbial properties. You can take the Organic Anise Flavor Concentrate and add it to a bucket of water and clean floors and counter tops, even! It is heat stable and can be baked in cake recipes or cookies to 375 degrees for up to one hour. This Anise Flavor can also be pasteurized in dairy products and is stable in UHT sytems. Because Anise is a sweet flavor, it is easy to over-flavor. Care should be taken to not over-flavor any product. Signs of over-flavoring include a taste on the palate, or a minty feeling. When using Anise Flavor you should only be able to taste the finished product for about 3 to 5 seconds after you swallow the product. If you taste the Anise Flavor longer than 3 to 5 seconds than you have used too much. Ingredients: Water, Organic Gum Acacia, Organic extracts of anise seed.
