Newport Flavors Potassium Citrate is a Sour Salt that comes from citric acid, which comes from Citrus Fruits. Potassium Citrate is a white salt that will readily dissolve in water. 
Newport Flavors Potassium Citrate, can be used as a food additive to regulate acidity, act as a preservative, or be taken as a medical supplement. Potassium Citrate is mainly used to act as a pH Buffering Agent, which helps stabilize the pH of your solution or your recipe. Potassium Citrate has been used as a medical supplement to help control/treat kidney stones, gout, and arrhythmia, in some cases. Newport Flavors Potassium Citrate is soluble in water, and glycerin; it is insoluble in alcohol. The Maximum allowable over-the-counter dose for this, as regulated by the FDA, would be no more than about 250mg which is approximately 3% of the daily allowance.
